Gwyn's First Day of Kindergarten...and Jacob's First Day of 2nd Grade!

The summer flew by, and the kids had their first day of school today.  Gwyn was super excited, but I could tell she was a little nervous and anxious as we were walking into the building.  We dropped Jacob off first, said goodbye and then walked Gwyn to her class.  She was greeted by her sweet teacher (who also had Jacob in Kinder), and seemed just fine.  She was even making silly faces at me when I took her picture.  I thought she was for sure going to cry, but she surprised me and did amazing!  She said her first day was "awesome" and that her favorite thing was watching a movie during recess because it was raining outside.  She rode the bus home and was anxious to play with Jacob and Annie:)  Isn't she the cutest!
Jacob had a great first day as well, although he is now saying he doesn't want a peanut butter sandwich for lunch anymore because you have to sit at one end of the table since there is someone with an allergy in his class.  He said he had the best teacher and the best classroom!  He for sure can't get lost with those bright shoes!

All three, Annie and I had a fun day, we went to the gym and then came home for me to organize the office and she had a little friend come over to play for awhile.  She told Brian that we had a fun day:)
A video of her walking in this morning:

A video of her and Jacob getting off the bus this afternoon:

Love those cute little legs and that gigantic backpack.
This was before meet the teacher last Friday.
Gwyn not wanting me to take her picture:
Jacob on the first day, ready for me to get out of his class and leave him alone, ha!
Gwyn on the first day at her class:
Gwyn is doing soccer this year and since she hasn't played before I took her to a little soccer clinic.  After crying for the first 30 minutes since she didn't get put in a group with her friends, she decided to give it a try and ended up loving it and keeps asking every day when is soccer starting.
Here is a video of her playing:

Sweet little Annie found her long lost little dog Coconut...all was good after that:)
A better picture of her little haircut:
Enjoying those last few days of summer before school last week:
Swimming at Jason's awesome pool and a sleepover to top off the last weekend of summer vacation:

Annie and her little buddy Emerson now rule the roost now that the big brothers and sisters are in school!
Funny things the kids said this week:

Annie (has prayed this the last couple of nights):  Thank you for Gwyn's American Girl doll. (I think she is using reverse psycology on me to get me to buy her one for her birthday!)

O K L A H O M A, Oklahoma...OK!

We finished up our summer of travel with a trip to Oklahoma to visit family.  We now have two weeks at home to rest up, recoop, and get ready for school which starts on the 26th.  Before we left, Annie and Gwyn both had their performances for their dance camp...here is my little white swan:
You'd think by these pictures Annie had a grand performance...

 My sweet little black swan:

Here are the videos, Gwyn worked so hard and practiced, she was so excited all week for this performance.

Annie at least didn't cry and run off the stage, an improvement, I'd say:

Jacob finished his basketball camp with Camper of the Day Award:
We stopped in Dallas for a couple of days to hang out with Em and her family.  We always seem to miss Nick when we come through, so he switched his shifts and Brian drove up seperately so we could all hang out together.  Sweet girls Annie and Sadie are 6 days apart:
We hit the neighborhood pool for swimming and pizza one night, and then took the kids to the Frisco Aquatic Center, such a fun place...Gwyn loved the little slides.  Jacob loved the big slides, and all the adults loved taking turns racing down the big slides with Jacob since he was the only kid who was tall enough to ride them.  They also had a great lazy river, we love lazy rivers!

Brian went back to Houston to work and I continued on to Tulsa to first visit Nana and Papa.  We brought the kids bikes since Gwyn had just learned to ride, they had a great time on the tennis courts of a nearby park by my parents:

A video of them showing off they can all  ride with one hand, ha!

Gwyn showing a little of her gymnastics to Nana and Papa:

Playtime in the backyard!
A trip to the Drillers game at their new stadium:
Oh how she makes her Daddy proud wearing that St. Louis shirt:
Nice fourth row seats behind the dugout!

I pointed out the building where Brian and I met, the kids weren't too impressed:
Not only did this kid make the jumbo tron (third time this year!), but he also got a ball!
So excited, we had to send Brian a video...the same night Brian and Jason were at the Astros vs Red Sox game in Houston and they made the jumbo tron as well!

It was so nice to see Neely and her girls for awhile, I can't believe we've got all these sweet kids!
Silly picture, we've got to work on Gwyn's face, that freaks me out:)
I showed this to Jacob followed up by some video of Magic dunking...he said, "You know him?!?!" Ha!
On to G and Grandpa's where Daddy flew up and spent two days before we drove home.  A very cool little Children's Museum with a maze made out of packing tape...these pictures aren't the greatest but you can make out the big smile on Annie's face:

They had several little engineering stations, Brian might have liked it just as well as the kids:)

 On a bed of nails:
 Love these sweet faces:
And he still likes the water hose:
Like he did when he was 1:

Can you believe this one is going into 2nd grade!
Annie just can't get enough of the fill the bucket game:
 Loved this picture:

Great Grandpa made the drive down from St. Louis, we hadn't seen him since Christmas:
A very proud G and Grandpa of their 5 grandkids:
Sweet Annie with Hannah...she said she was a pretty good cousin:
 Jacob with Elijah:
This is how Annie rode home, with an ipad underneath:
The girls got to have a girls day when we got back complete with haircuts, polish changes on their toes and hands, lunch with Daddy and cupcakes...not a bad day!

Annie wanted her hair cut just like her sister's.  I'll have to get a better picture of her haircut, she looks so cute!
Funny things the kids said this week:
Annie:  My finger got a brain freeze from holding that cold popscicle.
