Back to School!!

Can't believe I now have a 3rd grader, a 1st grader and a pre-K kid!!  They are getting so big, it is a little sad for me, but I'm loving their personalities and seeing the awesome people they are becoming. We had meet the teacher on Friday, and school started this past Monday.  This starts the first of the next three years where they are all attending the same elementary.

Things the kids said this week:
Jacob has to do acts of kindness each night as a part of his homework.  The first day was walking Annie to class, the second day was asking a new kid at recess if he wanted to play, so I asked him what he did on the third day.
Jacob:  I can't tell you.  It is the kind of thing you do, and you don't tell anyone about and then one day you get rewarded in heaven.

I. love. this. kid.  It kind of makes me think that we are doing something a little right:)

End of Summer Blues

We have definitely been taking advantage all that we can of these last few days of summer before it is back to the grind, Fall activities begin, and homework resumes!  Gwyn had a back to school Girl Scouts party, so Jacob, Annie and I went to an Astros game with Jason.  The kids had fun:
Annie needed a 7th inning nap:)
Brian and Gwyn went to an Indian Princess outing to a trampoline place, where Brian came home with two injuries (an almost broken toe and burst blood vessels in his leg) due to a very tight race against some of the 1st grade girls.
This is one VERY loved little girl!
Gwyn and Annie did a little American Girl dance camp last week, love this tiny dancer:
I did get a bun to work in her hair, but she didn't like it.  I just love this little picture because you can see how little she still is, cheeks and all:)
While the girls were in camp in the morning, I had a few hours of one on one time with Jacob each day.  Coffee with this kid was a highlight, we planned a Mom and Son trip to New York City sometime in the next few years, love him!
The dance recital on Friday was a hit, Annie and Gwyn loved it!  Videos at the end of this post.
 My sweet Gwyn:

Jason was able to get some awesome shots...

 Love those girls!

We said goodbye to Kipp as we babysat him for a week:

Jacob got to go to Top Golf with his buddies while the girls were in dance camp:
Of course he had to have the annual hot towel massage haircut, to reduce the stress as he prepares for 3rd grade, ha!
 My handsome boy:
Thought these were funny, how my face recognition software on the computer thinks that the girls might be Jacob...I guess they look more alike than I think:

We are thinking this peacock has nested somewhere close to us, as he has been seen quite frequently around the hood:
Be on the look out, Brian wants this shirt for Christmas:
The lego master building continues...no use of Kragle going on at this house!

Look who will be sporting the last pair of 10 1/2 size soccer shoes in Houston, these are for sure to guarantee us a goal, right?  She's more interested in snacks, colorful socks, and which bow to wear:
A few videos from the week:
One reason why the kids need to go back to school, we're having to come up with some creative ways of entertaining ourselves:

Funny things the kids said this week:

Annie (after we were discussing allergies):  I'm not allergic to donuts.
