SNOW DAY (minus the actual snow!)

Well it rained a little, then got cold, so the city of Houston shut down for a day.  The kids ended up having a three day week since MLK was on Monday and they had a snow day on Friday.  I guess it was technically an ice day, we did have a 30% chance of snow.  We've had several hurricane days before, but this was a first.  Jacob kept showing me the weather app on his itouch and just didn't understand why it showed a snowflake, yet we didn't get any snow.  My poor kids are dying for some snow...we'll have to take a ski trip in the next few years when I know they will remember it, and Annie is big enough.
The trampoline was a hit with the thin layer of ice:
Gwyn and Jacob still going strong on their basketball season, I think we have three more weeks left...it is so fun watching with each game the girls finally start to "get it!"
My cute little bike rider on my run/walk:
How sweet is this little thing?  Sweet enough that she colored on my couch cushion with blue marker, got gum stuck in her hair and on the bottom of her dress (which I cannot get out), and spilled juice/milk/water at just about every meal this week...we still love her:
Shooting some bball outside of school:
Gwyn has her 100th day of school coming up, where she has to decorate a t-shirt, the kids finished it up while they were out of school...it is going to ROCK:)
This one comes up with her own moves:

This one is getting geared up for her karaoke birthday party...she is pumped:

I got inspired, thought my Dad would like to see the before:

We LOVE this weather!

The weather is absolutely beautiful in Houston, we have been bike riding the last three weekends, and we stopped by the nature sanctuary by our house to check out the turtles.  We also rode by the bayou and Gwyn brought her jump rope, Jacob brought his football and Annie brought her oranges to eat!  Such a cute sweet girl!
She loves her oranges and is yet to retire her Christmas shirt until next year!
Jacob and Brian played some football, a true Texan!

Sweet girl, notice every picture of Annie she picks out all her own clothes, and ALWAYS has a skirt, usually one that does not match.

The trampoline has been getting plenty of use!
Sweet boys had to do their homework before we went to the basketball game, which included reading for 20 minutes:
Jason got tickets to the Rockets vs OKC Thunder, and since Jacob is a big KD fan, we went on a school night and stayed out until 10:45!!  He still got a 100 on both is spelling and math quizzes the next day, so I guess I wasn't such a bad parent, ha!
Two very happy boys, Jacob said when we got home, he just couldn't believe he finally got to see KD miss a free throw, I think he made about 20!
Just love Gwyn's handwriting and drawings:
Found this cute tshirt at Old Navy...it was too small, but Annie wanted to hold it up to show Nana and Papa:)
Gwyn has completed a couple of exciting milestones...jumping rope and tieing her shoes!!

And crazy Annie is still at it!

Happy New Year!

We are off to a crazy busy start.  Both Jacob and Gwyn are playing basketball, I'm coaching Gwyn's team and Brian is coaching Jacob's team.  The girls are learning, but I find myself horse after each game...these pictures explain a lot...Gwyn looks like she is dancing in this one:

All under the basket, ready for a rebound:
Or maybe they were just ready to chat:
All the kids got haircuts before they went back to school, Gwyn and Annie are loving going to a Mommy place:

Close up picture of Jacob's lost tooth:
All the kids had sleepovers, Annie's little friend Emerson spent the night, while Gwyn and Jacob went to a friend's house...Brian and I got the best end of that deal, ours were in bed by 8:30:
I had to include this picture of Brian out to dinner sitting with an American Girl:
We got to babysit a little kitten named Chewy...Gwyn was in love:
A visit to the allergist with Mommy...all three kids zoned in technology:
My sweet Annie:
Gwyn's ladybugs for her ladybug habitat arrived this week...let's see how many days before we have ladybugs all over our house!
Sassy little Annie who picks all her own outfits, never without a skirt!
Several videos...Gwyn has been working on her kick over and finally perfected it:

My wiggle worm:

Annie is loving the trailer bike attached to Brian's bike, I love that she doesn't even have to pedal:

Thought this was cute how Gwyn kind of jumps up and takes off down the court, such sweet little girls:

Jacob's team is undefeated, here he is making a lay up:

Funny things the kids said this week:

Jacob:  I got three interceptions in the game! (He meant he got three steals in his basketball game).
