Pumpkins and Scrapbooking

We love this time of year! I love taking the kids to the pumpking patch. Jacob gets so excited with all the orange...it must mean he's destined to be an OSU fan! My mom came down last weekend and we took full advantage of the extra help. I was able to get so much done. Not only is my house clean and laundry done, but I was able to make my first diaper cake for a friend who just had a baby girl, I was able to get some scrapbook pages done for Gwyn's book and our family book (Jacob's birthday and the pumpkin patch), we took the kids to the pumpkin patch and Brian took Jacob to the zoo. Oh, and I got my haircut for the first time in 6 months and went to the eye dr!! Brian and I also went on a date to Cafe Annie's here in Houston...it was really nice to have some face to face time with each other without having to feed a baby with one hand and then do dishes afterwards. We were even nice enough to bring my mom home dessert...which she didn't even eat because she caught a stomach bug and HAD to stay an extra day. I felt bad she got sick, but liked having her here a little longer!

Here is a couple more pictures of the kids at the pumpkin patch.

Here is a picture of my diaper cake:

This is Jacob and Brian about to head out to the zoo!

Busy October....

We've had a very busy October so far. Gwyn is crawling everywhere, pulling up, and cruisin' from coffee table to couch to wherever she can reach. I got her some "baby legs" because she had been crawling with one leg tucked underneath her and it would get red by the end of the day. Brian came home and said, "what are those?" I told him baby legs and he said they look more like chunk enhancers. They are pretty cute on her.

This is what Jacob was doing while I was trying to take some pictures of Gwyn. He never slows down, and I pretty much ALWAYS have to keep an eye on him! I'm told Brian was like this when he was little, and somehow I'm the one who's paying for it!
I've had a coulpe deja vu moments with Gwyn doing the same things that Jacob used to do. I just can't believe he's growing up so fast and that she's already 8 months old! She's already loving the dishwasher and her favorite toy is the music table we got for Jacob when he was 6 months old.

We had our friends Nick and Erika and their precious little boy Rafael in town for almost a week. Rafael loved following Jacob around, and Jacob loved someone he could boss around! We had Brad, Erika and Maddy over for the OSU vs Missouri football game, while Nick, Erika, and Rafael were here and it was a houseful of kids running around crazy. It was great fun because we won! Gwyn dressed up in a little OSU cheerleading outfit, she's already got the pose down. Maddy talks really well and loved bossing Jacob around!

Rick and Sue (Brian's parents) came down to visit for the weekend and they took the kids out to Dewberry Farm. We love having visitors because it means help with the kids and a break for us. They, of course, brought some presents from them and Stacy for Jacob and Gwyn. Jacob put his potato head together all by himself and he was so proud! Gwyn got a cute little purse with keys, a mirror, lipstick, and a bracelet...now she has some girl toys to play with instead of Jacob's trucks!

Relaxin' weekend

Well, we had a pretty fun and relaxing weekend. We went to a birthday party for one of Jacob's friends, it was at Young Chef's Academy. The kids made their own pizzas, Jacob's turned out pretty good even though he was the one who wanted to eat the plain flour at first. He was also the last kid finished with cake. He likes to eat every drop of icing while he makes sure NOT to eat any cake, he knows the good stuff!

We also found out from Jacob's Sunday School teacher that he's a "ladies man." Apparently, last week he was being all lovey with Ava and this week it was Alexandria....I think Brian was pretty proud! Gwyn is doing better in the nursery at church, she was the screamer who would get the rest of the babies going for awhile, but she's starting to do a little better now that she's mobile and can play. She likes to eat beans and quacamole, since she ate a few beans at Lupe's, Jacob decided he wanted some and ate the rest of the bowl (he just wanted to make sure he didn't miss out and she got something he didn't). She'll be 8 months on Tuesday, and she already is wanting to feed herself everything, I'm lucky if I get her to eat one thing of baby food.
I tried to take some pictures with my good camera (SLR that I don't know how to use!). Anyways, I got a few cute ones, Jacob would not sit still until I promised him a skittle if he would go sit by Gwyn...his pose with her at the top of this post is him saying "yes" about getting a skittle.

I'm also attaching a couple of pics from last month that I thought were too cute...this one I let Jacob paint with chocolate pudding, he liked painting Gwyn more than the paper!

This one is of the kids in our "go bug." It hooks to the back of Brian's bike and we go cruisin' the neighborhood. The weather here in Houston is starting to turn really nice, not too hot and just cool in the mornings and evenings.

This one is of the two of them in their small paul monkey t-shirts. Jacob loves monkeys, he's pretty proud of his "eeewww eeewww" t-shirt.

Stickers, trucks, giggles, and crawlers...

With Gwyn crawling and getting into EVERYTHING, I forgot what fun it is to clean up all the dvds that get strung out everywhere, the books, the toys, etc. Jacob is now actually showing Gwyn more stuff to get into, most of which he had forgotten about, but now remembers what fun it is. This is Gwyn pulling out all the books, she had already gotten the dvds, so that wasn't fun anymore...yes, that is her bum showing...at 19 months apart, they are now in the same size diaper...Pampers Cruisers size 4 if anyone wants to send us any since we go through a jumbo box from babies r us a week, ha!! We went to book group yesterday, The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch...such a great book, he was the Carnegie Melon professor who died of cancer in July. This week is flying by, hard to believe we've been to preschool, moms club meeting, out to lunch, grocery shopping, Target, the doctor, post office, two different banks, grocery store again, book group, preschool again, already this week, as well as got in some major-needed cleaning...and it isn't even halfway through Wednesday yet! I think I have nothing planned tomorrow, better look at my to-do list. The picture of Jacob, who got into the OSU alumni sticker packet...he left these on all night, and I even found some in his bed the next morning...he's into stickers at the moment.

I thought this video was pretty cute, Gwyn thinks pretty much ANYTHING Jacob does is just hilarious...
