Busy bees and Mommy got the flu

It has been a whirlwind week or so here.  We have been busy with our normal routine, but Brian went to New Orleans for the week and I came down with the flu while he was gone, boo!!  It is nice to know  we have great friends who helped out with the kids, and Brian came back a day early to rescue his damsel in distress!  The kids have been doing well, and thankfully no one else has gotten sick...partly because I pretty much quarantined myself off for 3 days and luckily got $95 Tamiflu prescription which seemed to make it a milder case since I caught it on the front end.  I thought this picture was funny of Annie who is 3 chugging a mexican orange soda at Escalantes...she gets to do so much more at a younger age just trying to keep up after her brother and sister:
The Friday before Brian left, Jacob went to a high school basketball game with a friend and I took the girls to get their nails done.  Annie was very "into" it and was the only one who didn't mess her nails up and have to get them redone, she did great!
Sweet little Gwyn messed both her nails up and her toes and the lady there was getting on to her but was speaking with such an accent that Gwyn couldn't understand and she just laughed...it was a little embarrassing:
 Precious little Annie Jaye:
Jacob and Brian built this little pinewood derby car for his race with Cub Scouts.  This was the result from several workshops in the garage.  Jacob picked the gold color, his car was named Mr. Gold (who knows, he came up with that himself).  His car had a lego driver.  He came in 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, and 4th out of each of his races with 4 cars in each race.  Not the best showing, but he had fun doing it.  The car weighed a max of 5 ounces.  I think Brian was more disappointed than Jacob, he had researched all the tips on getting the fastest car.  The race only lasts 2 seconds.
Here is a video of one of the races...

The girls of course got drug to check in which took a couple of hours and the derby race itself which took a few hours...I couldn't believe Gwyn could do the monkey bars all the way across...this video shows her doing it, but the next time she did it she went all the way across...must be those Air Jordan's she's wearing:

Annie is quite the fashionista these days.  She wears hats, layers, sweaters, skirts, and wants to change multiple times / day.  She is already worse than Gwyn!
I'm loving some of the things the kids are coming home with...here is Jacob's self portrait:
Gwyn drew me this at school when I wasn't feeling good:
Gwyn's artwork from her Turtle class:

I can't believe they are already learning the oceans:
Funny things the kids said this week:
Annie:  Diapers hurt you, panties feel nice.
Gwyn when I told her that her friend moved to Oklahoma:  It is going to be a long drive for her back to school every day.
Brian when asked by Jacob if they could go ice skating:  No, ice is hard and cold and it hurts when you fall (looks like we're crushing any dreams of being ice skaters!).

Toothless #3 Jacob, Gymnastics Gwyn & Dancing Annie

What an exciting week...Jacob lost tooth #3 and Gwyn has started her gymnastics classes.  She is absolutely loving it, but as this video shows, she has some work to do:)

She is loving the classes and has a great time taking them with her little friend. Gwyn says they are just alike because their hair is cut the same and they both like salad.

Gwyn got a new leotard for gymnastics and has pretty much worn it non-stop around the house and even out to Hobby Lobby.  It came with a scrunchee, which she didn't know what to do with so she wears it around her ankle like an anklet.

Love these three kids:
Annie is itching to get out and do gymnastics herself, I've promised her that in the Fall when Gwyn goes to Kindergarten then she and Emerson will get to take either a dance or gymnastics class together during the day.  Poor thing gets drug around to all of Jacob and Gwyn's stuff and has to sit there:(
We are getting back into the groove and have been enjoying some great family time...here is Jacob and Brian working on an army of Lego people:
Family game night with Guess Who (I loved that game when I was little!). Annie is not the best at playing, she usually tells you who her person is or whispers it very loudly, like "Our person doesn't has glasses, her name is Molly."  Needless to say, Jacob and Gwyn don't like having her on their team but LOVE to play against her.
Oh those boy scouts better watch out...Brian and Jacob have been constructing their Pinewood Derby car for the competition next weekend.  Look out, the design has been googled, it comes equipped with a Lego driver (with a helmet and face shield) and Jacob chose to paint it purple...nice!
Oh how the dancing continues at our house...these girls go non-stop, and Annie (who also got her own gymnastics leotard since her size was on clearance and hasn't wanted to take it off since) is getting to be pretty hard to beat:

Cutie:
Sweet little Annie is doing great with potty training, she is down to wetting the bed every other night or so. Such a big girl! She loves that wearing panties has opened up a whole other realm of fashion possibilities and is requesting that she wear Hello Kitty panties with her Hello Kitty pajamas so that they match...sheesh!
Sweet little Gwyn swaddled her baby just like Stacy does her babies:

We are off to a great start in 2013!

Our 2013 is off to a great start as Annie is officially potty trained!  I took my first trip to Target and didn't buy any diapers or pull ups, whoo hoo!  She thinks she is pretty cool and tells everyone she wears panties.  Gwyn thinks it is awesome that everyone in our family now wears either underwear or panties, nice.  She is our funny little girl that makes us laugh all the time.  She now calls Brian "sir Daddy."  We have been keeping busy, it was great having Brian home until the 2nd of January.  We were able to do some fun things with the kiddos, watch the OSU bowl game with some friends, have a New Years dinner with friends, and we've been having some fun with the kids before they go back to school.
I thought her little braids were just too cute and if you notice her pants, those are actually pants, not a skirt, she has both her legs through one leg with the other leg of the pants just flopping around.  She is determined to wipe and dress herself, so she looks pretty crazy sometimes.
You should see the state of my bathroom after she has finished.  I'm sure she'll love that I put these pictures in here when she is about 15!

Sweet little Gwyn wanted me to take this picture of her, silly girl!
Jason got the girls a new table and chairs for their room, Gwyn wanted to put legos on it...they were quite excited about it since Jacob has his own table:
Jacob quickly moved in on the fun:
The dancing continues at our house...love Annie dancing in her little panties:

Jacob had his first 1st grade basketball game on Saturday.  It was so much fun to watch, the boys worked so well together for it being the first game...he's our sweet little #35:
Here is a short video showing a few clips that Jason got...this is going to be a fun season!

Funny things the kids said this week:

Annie:  I wasn't good at patience.
Annie:  I got the burps.  I got the hookups.
