The kids started 5th, 3rd and 1st grade on Monday...a fun but sad day, as these days are going by too quickly. They had a great first day, rode bikes to and from school, and no homework on the first day! The best moment was when I was biking to school with Annie and she gets this crazed look on her face and yells, "I'M SO EXCITED FOR 1ST GRADE!!" Love her, she is LOVING her teacher and her class and getting to ride her bike...she's the only one that wants me to ride right beside her, the other two have already ditched me for their friends.
Pulled this out, Jacob's first day of Kinder and his first day of 5th grade, he'll be on to Middle School next year...don't you love how his hairstyle is the same, ha!

Meet the Teacher was last Friday, and we followed that up with out to lunch with Brian and then had some fun on their last day of summer!

Inspired by the look Gwyn was getting on her lemonade stand (a hefty $9, split between her and her friend), Jacob and his friends decided to have a car wash, and they had 3 people who shockingly stopped and let them wash their car. They said, "Under 5 min or it's free!" Then they would have the driver time them...It was hilarious and embarrassing at the same time, I stayed in the house. I got a text from one of his friends mother's who received a text from a friend that was one of their customers. They stopped because they recognized one of the kids, had them wash their car, then when they rolled their window down, one of them accidentally sprayed the driver in the face! Oh my word!! They had the best time...if I'm ever driving by a homemade car wash, I'm definitely stopping. They had no idea what they were doing, had rags and brushes and Windex and a bottle of Dawn.
Family bike ride in August...fun but really hot...good thing most of the streets were shaded. We went along as Jacob deliver all of his thank you notes from his birthday. Annie is saying "Word." here.
Jacob's birthday present for his birthday was a Texans game with Jason, Brian and his buddy Daylan. Here they are JJ Watting it. They had a blast and it was a great game to the very last snap!

Just another day at school this past week...Annie has a new shirt that says Always Fast, Never Last. Made just for her.
We had a great little weekend trip to Gruene, TX and Lake McQueeny with the Rushings and Willards over this past weekend. The weather was great, we got to go tubing/rafting down the Guadalupe River...9 tubes and 2 rafts, and a big sunburn for me 4 hours later. We ate at the Gristmill, and had a fun day boating with the Sands at McQueeny. Lots of fun memories made this weekend!
