Top 50 Things of 2016

We had a great year!  Here are the top 50 Things for the Katterhenry Family for 2016!

1. Starting the year off right with a family night out to Benihana!
2. Gwyn getting reading glasses and thinking she’s all that.
3. Jacob, Adam, Brian and Jason going to the Texans game January 3^rd.
4. The kids brand new school reopened, we LOVE RCE!
5. Annie’s 100^th Day of school parade.
6. A fun basketball season with Jacob on the Pistons, Gwyn on the Nikes and Stars, and Annie on the Rainbow Rockstar Cheetahs!
7. Gwyn’s 8^th birthday party…movie, chinkins, sleepover, dance party, painting an owl on canvas.
8. Jacob’s rubber band powered racecar and building a pitching mound with Brian.
9. EPIC first snow skiing trip with the Rushings and the Willards to Deer Valley, Utah.
10.  Go Texan Day at school, all three of mine dressed to the nines in their cowboy / cowgirl get ups!
11. A super fun softball season with Gwyn on the Outlaws and Annie on the Diamonds.
12. Loving watching Jacob on the mound during Spring and Fall baseball with the Spartans.  Watching him pitch and his buddy Adam catch and visa versa was so much fun.
13. The kids biking to and from school every day.
14. The 2^nd Grade play, Gwyn being a Lady Bug and having a little solo.
15. Annie’s Kindergarten graduation, sniff, sniff.
16. A very memorable and WET Boogie Down Brittmoore.
17. Gwyn performing in her recital for her jazz / hip-hop dance class.
18. Summer HEAT softball for both Gwyn and Annie.
19. A record 14 baseball and softball games from Friday – Sunday on weekend in June when all three kids had tournaments going on.
20. A fantastic Piranha swim team season, Annie getting MVP for 6U and making it to the Meet of Champs!
21. Summer Camp fun, Rice Basketball and Baseball camp for Jacob, basketball and cooking/writing for Gwyn and Annie.
22. The BEST Mother/Son trip to Chicago with Jacob…Cubs playing the Cardinals, biking around Lake Michigan, Chicago deep dish pizza, movie, Shedd aquarium and Museum of Science and Industry.
23. A fun 4^th of July at the neighborhood pool, minus Brian who had to be in Trinidad.
24. A fun indoor sports party for Jacob’s 10^th birthday!
25. A very sad day when our sweet, precious neighbors the Whitesides moved back to San Antonio.
26. A fun trip to Dallas to visit Nick and Emily and their girls Grace and Sadie…cupcake wars, Mesquite Rodeo, a visit to the fire station.
27. The BEST weekend trip to Gruene, TX with the Willards and Rushings including tubing at Lake McQuenny with the Sands family.
28. The kids trip to visit grandparents in Oklahoma, a few rare nights of being kid-free for Brian and I.
29. The start of 1^st grade for Annie with Ms.  Ramey, 3^rd grade for Gwyn with Ms. House and Ms. Evetts, and 5^th grade for Jacob with Ms. White, Ms. Charles and Ms. Demeris.
30. Gwyn getting slammed with a soccer ball at the Dash game when we sat behind the goal and I decided to take a family selfie at a very inopportune time.
31. Annie’s family rules…no sneaking for money and “keep the change you filthy animal!”
32. Gwyn’s soccer season with the Albion Hurricanes and the SBMSA Gold Championship Hurricanes, including second place in the All-Star tournament.
33. Annie coming into her own as a star on the Ice Breakers!
34. Gwyn receiving her Bible at church.
35. Jacob dressed up as Pedro (not to be confused with Pablo Escobar) for Halloween…Gwyn as Thing 2 and Annie as Mal.
36. Moving out of our house and into a rental as we remodel our house, it has been a very LONG time coming!

38. Countless wiffle ball games in the easement for Jacob and his buddies.
39. Lots of fun swimming in the pool for the kids and their friends.
40. Annie’s 7^th birthday emoji sleepover party!

42. Dissecting cow eyeballs with Jacob’s class.
43. My final round of Kindergarten science experiments with Annie’s class.
44. Celebrating Thanksgiving in Tulsa with both sides of the families.
45. A fun filled 4 day weekend trip to Tampa to visit John and Claudia…Busch Gardens roller coasters, swimming, Top Golf, and loads of fun.
46. Watching Jacob perform with the Rocking Roadrunners.
47. Zoo field trip with Annie and her friend Jenna.
48. Taking the girls to see the American Girl Nutcracker on Ice.
49. Christmas in Dallas with the Katterhenrys and at Jason’s with the Browns.
50.  Another year of building memories with our precious kids, they are each so different, and we love so incredibly much.  Looking forward to an EPIC 2017!
