Lake Livingston Weekend

We had a very fun weekend at Lake Livingston with three other families last weekend, a weekend that we all went in and purchased together at Jacob's school auction.  8 adults, 11 kids and hours and hours of swimming in the lake.  The water was only about 2-3 ft deep right in front of the lake house, so it made it very nice for the kids to play.  Here is a group shot:
Sweet little Annie Jaye:

Smores on the campfire...Jacob and Brian were all over that!
The house came with the use of their wave runner and tubes.  The kids had a great time on that, Jacob and Brian were most excited about that!
Here is a video of Jacob coming in on the tube:

Annie and her little friend Emerson spent hours and hours on the trampoline, they were on it the entire time:

Here is a video of the use this trampoline got this weekend...I think this was 10 of the 11 kids on it:

Gwyn and her sweet little friend Avery were two peas in a pod this weekend:

I think Brian hugged Annie a little tighter just because she had on that tshirt, ha!
Relaxing from such a hard life of jumping on a trampoline!
I had picked up some glow sticks at Hobby Lobby on clearance a very long time ago, and found them right before we left, the kids loved it:
I was out in the hammock with my early risers while everyone else slept in:
 Love her smile:
A rare sight on the drive home...all three asleep!
We came back to our swim team end of season party.  Both kids got medals and sheets that showed their times, it was amazing how each race they swam they both just got faster and faster.
What an awesome group of kids, our neighborhood is so small geographically and we had 160 swimmers ages 4-18!
Here is a video of the end of season party, which ended with all the kids diving for change that all the parents threw into the pool.  Jacob came out with about $3.40...Gwyn came out with about $0.52.

I told Brian the other day how rough my life is...I've been spending about 3 hours at the pool this week letting the kids swim and play and I also spent about 2 hours making crazy sunglasses out of pipecleaners, pom poms and hot glue for Jacob and Gwyn for VBS:)

Needless to say, Gwyn did not win the prize of the best sunglasses:)

Go Piranhas! Swim Team was AWESOME!

We just finished up with swim team, all the neighborhood pools have swim teams and they have meets against each other, we were part of the Plaza Oaks Piranhas and finished the season undefeated!  It is big in Texas, and I was hesitant to do it since it is an every day thing, but it is a short season and a lot of fun, a big community builder.  It has been great for the kids, both Jacob and Gwyn are swimming amazingly.  They practiced everyday after school in May, and then early every morning in June.  No need for lessons next year, being in the pool everyday for 30 minutes with swim team coaches instructing them is worth so much.  It has been awesome for me, since the pool is so close we would ride our bikes up every morning, swim and then come back home.  The kids loved it.  Gwyn swam freestyle and a freestyle relay, Jacob swam freestyle, freestyle relay, and backstroke.  Jacob even made it to the Meet of Champs:)  Gwyn didn't get to practice much in May due to her broken arm, but swam every meet and since they didn't really know what heat she should be in since she missed the time trials, she swam last for the first couple of meets and got several first and second place ribbons.  Jacob who swam in the first heats in each of his events, did not understand how she was getting first and second place ribbons and he was getting third, fourth, fifth, sixth.  He did get two second place ribbons on the last meet, so he was pretty excited about that.  Gwyn just wanted to get all the colors, she didn't want any more first place (blue ribbons), she really wanted the fifth (pink) ribbon.  This blog is heavy on pictures and video of swim team:)

Brian had a line of kids who wanted him to draw piranhas on their backs after he drew these on our kids.  He looked at the line, and said he wasn't going to draw on anyone with a sharpie until they asked their parents...they immediately scattered to go ask their parents and he quickly disappeared to go to the concession stand and then avoided them all night, ha!

Little Annie was a trooper, and loved hanging with her big brother:
Don't feel too bad for Annie being dragged to all the swim meets, as you can see, she has a ring pop in one hand a pack of skittles in the other, ha!

I love watching Jacob's reaction to Gwyn getting 1st place:

She is so stinking cute!

I've moved all of Gwyn's size 4 clothes to Annie's closet, so she comes down in multiple outfits / day...her favorite right now is this ballerina outfit:

Maddy gave us some clothes, and this one dress already fit Annie, she was excited!
Sweet little Annie hoarding all the toys in our pool, here she is yelling at Jacob that she has the toys and he doesn't!
 Love these kids:
 He's got my eyes:)
Time for a flag change, Jacob is quite proud!
One I took before church on Father's Day:
