Swim Team Fun!

It has been an exhausting but fun few weeks of summer with all three kids doing the neighborhood swim team.  Annie is a half-lapper, meaning she only swims at home meets and with a teen helper.  Gwyn swims 6 and under and swims freestyle, freestyle relay, and backstroke.  Jacob being in 8U swims all four strokes and relays...it has been a good experience for him, as he is learning to deal with losing:)

Swimming against his buddy Day at the Wilchester meet:
I loved how Gwyn had drawn all over Annie, and she was loving it.  You usually write their races, heats, and lanes on their arms, and Brian will draw a Piranha on the back...Gwyn wrote "Eat My Bubbles" and "I love Plaza Oaks" on Annie's legs, she thought she was hot stuff.

 Getting ready:
 One step closer:
 Swimmers, take your mark!
 The artist at work:

 Swimmers take your mark!
A blue ribbon, the second time she got a 5th place and like her brother, I think wanted to throw it away, where Gwyn likes to get pink ones, ha!
 Gwyn and her sweet friends:
Swimming Memorial Bend against Tyler and Sam:
A field trip to Mam's snowballs, a must do in the summer...heaven, a snow cone with condensed milk poured on top, yummy!

Sweet girls on their way to watch Jacob's last baseball tournament:
A visit to Half Priced Books for some summer reading materials!

This one went from swim team practice in the morning to a little ballet camp for an hour and a half, which she LOVED!
How could we not start the summer with a lemonade stand!
It became boys vs  girls, with Jacob and his friends putting together trying to sell old baseball card sets (I mean, who needs any baseball cards if it isn't a Cardinal's player, right?):
I had a very quick weekend trip to Lake McQueeny, it was a very relaxing get-a-way with 8 very awesome moms!
The girls thought they were so cool to be able to make their own lipstick with a red snowcone:

Funny things the kids said this week:
Jacob:  I tried to give Gwyn some 7up, but she said she couldn't have it because she isn't 7 years old, you have to be 7 years old and up to drink it.

Last Day of School and First Week of Summer!

I just noticed my blogs have been heavy on the  girls lately, so I wanted to give Jacob the attention he rightfully deserves:)  I took these last night before we went on a Mommy/Son date to see the movie Maleficent.  It was a definite hit in his book, mainly because he got to see something the girls couldn't and they were already in bed when he got home.  I do love my boy, he's a little ray of sunlight in our lives.  He was adamant that I take a pic of his muscles below:
We've been busy watching him play some tournament baseball, quite a bit of fun for the family, and it is amazing how much better he has gotten compared to last year, what a year of growth, strength and coordination does to a kid who is about to turn 8 next month.  Love him!
 He's one cool kat!

He can hold his own eating buffalo wild wings:
Brian told Jacob he could take those down like a man.  Here is what Annie said:

It was the last day of school for my sweet kiddos, can't believe I'll now have a 3rd grader, a 1st grader and a preKer!  I'm getting old along with them!

Last day of school neighborhood-wide, school-wide water balloon fight.
 A drowned rat!
Boogie down Brittmoore video:

This inspired them wanting to make their own water balloons, they were pretty proud of themselves when I taught them to tie their own balloons because believe me, I'm SO over tying balloons!

14 years with this handsome guy, and a very nice unexpected week-night date night when Rick came into town and watched the kids for us!

 Gwyn's art:
Summertime means pool time with a homemade water feature of the sprinkler in the deep end!
 My beauties:

This is what you wake up to when you've got a son who is a hit with the 2nd, or I should now say 3rd grade girls.  We got "forked" and chalked...our yard covered with lots of plastic forks stuck up in the yard and our driveway chalked with messages to Jacob:

I've been getting up early to walk, and my little trainer decided to go with me:
I was apparently going slow enough that he decided to ride up ahead and take a nap while he waited for me!

I have arrived!  I took Gwyn and Annie to get pedicures while Jacob was in a little summer basketball camp with his buddies, such fun to have girls!

Cutest pic ever, probably the only team they will ever be on together, go Piranhas!
Gwyn had a little playdate with some friends, $1.87 can of shaving cream = 2 hours of summer fun!
Can't get enough of this cute little sweet baby girl, who was super excited when I went through all of Gwyn's clothes and now she has tons of new skirts and dresses to choose from!
Intense, going to get all of the shaving cream out of this bottle!
Painting while Jacob is in camp!
