Surviving the Arctic Blast in Houston!

My Texas born kiddos broke out the triple layers as we are surviving the polar vortex of temperatures that dropped into the 50s, ha!  I must admit I don't handle the cold like I used to, but it is a nice break from the heat.  I mistakenly mentioned to the kids when we got a carmel apple at Disney that I could "so make those," and they haven't let me forget it.  I did deliver and we made carmel and chocolate dipped apples and they were awesome!
We concluded the soccer season with two games this weekend, one  for Gwyn and one for Annie, followed by team parties for both.  Jacob just could not believe they were getting trophies when their teams didn't win the championship and he was most bothered by the fact Annie was getting a trophy and her team didn't even win a game, ha!
Sweet group of girls with great coaches!
My little soccer star was the closest to a hat trick scoring two goals in one game and one goal each in a couple of other games this season.
This soccer star scored two goals on Saturday, one for our team and one for the other team!

This one finds the fun in anything, including watching her brother practice baseball:
Why sit on the bleachers when you can have this awesome seat??
I'm winning at this whole parenting thing, here is Jacob choking down a huge bite of garlic / parmesan spinach for 2 pieces of Halloween candy:
 And the video:

Sweet Gwyn reading to her Dad:
Gwyn's little hip hop / jazz dance class performed the dance from Thriller for the parents, so cute!
And the video:

Annie made her roller skating debut at a birthday party last weekend...she really didn't ever go beyond 10 ft from this spot where she started, even with her little walker:

She's inventing a new way to skate:

Loved this craft from Girl Scouts...Gwyn's thankful pumpkin said she is thankful for:  "The werlde," "That i am a live," "For my food," "For my famle," "For my friends," and "That Jeesus dide on the cross."
Annie learned a hard lesson, when you receive gifts, you have to write thank you notes.  Jacob gave his older brotherly wisdom to her by telling her that is why you only have a sleepover birthday party with 3-4 friends, that way you only have to write 3-4 thank you notes, nice!
Loved Jacob's artwork:
Gwyn's class read a book about a magic pebble, look what she would wish for, oh Lord!

I just can't get enough of Annie's drawings, especially the ones of our family, I love this, it looks like I have a fur shaw on!
