So Long Bluebonnet and Dandelion, we won't miss you!

I love my Matilda Jane girls!  They looked so cute dressed up for church that I had to snap this picture, the best I could do…and yes, Jacob in the background didn’t want his picture made in his “fancy” (AKA a shirt with a collar) shirt .

It has been another busy week.  I ended up taking Gwyn to the Dr early in the week, and after being there 4 hours, it was determined that she had a viral throat infection, so do nothing unless it gets worse, which, thankfully, it didn't.  Imagine trying to contain Annie for 4 hours in a Dr office, where whenever we went back to the back, memories from the previous week's vaccinations came roaring back to her.  At one point, I had to put Annie in the stroller, and hold Gwyn down to let the Dr look in her ears, throat, and do the strep test.  Both were screaming bloody murder, so much so, that when the Dr left, I was holding Gwyn and rolling the stroller back and forth, and they both passed out from exhaustion for a glorious 15 minutes until we were finally able to go home.  We were able to do some fun things this week, Annie and I went to breakfast with some friends for my book group one day while Jacob and Gwyn were in school, Brian was able to go to Kindergarten round-up at Jacob's school for next year (so impressed and excited about his school!), and Brian and I were able to get a much needed date night on Saturday night, followed by Sunday afternoon having Brian's grandpa and his brother stop in from St. Louis on their way to San Antonio.  It was great to visit with them, and Brian's cousin, Ange was able to come over too.  Brian and I love to hear his Grandpa talk about how things have changed since he has been alive, how amazing that the first house he bought was less than $11,000!

Oh, and an update on Gwyn, who I really expected to be a dance-school drop out this week...she did GREAT this week, and even cried on the way out because she didn't want to leave!  I was proud of her. She did great, they do 15 minutes of ballet, a 15 minutes of tap, and then 30 minutes of gymnastics, she loves it and was having so much fun.  Jacob can take books, stickers, toys to play with while we wait, and there are several other brothers waiting on their sisters.  Annie goes absolutely nuts running all around.  This week, she was constantly going after everyones shoes in these cubbies.  I'd have to run over there, get the shoes from her, and then put them back.  She was squealing, running from me and thought it was the funnest game.  After about 30 minutes of me running back and forth (all the while attempting to have a conversation with another mom), this little girl went over and moved all the shoes up two rows, so that Annie couldn't reach them...I thought (while I'm dripping with sweat), why didn't I think of that 30 minutes ago!  As we were leaving, the director said they had classes for toddlers Annie's age, and I just said, no thanks, I doubt you could control her!

I made the never-to-be-made-mistake-again of signing up to babysit the birds from Jacob and Gwyn's preschool for the weekend.  They were AWFUL!  So loud and annoying, chirping non-stop until we put the blanket over their cage for them to go to bed (which I admit to doing on night at 5 pm because I couldn't stand the noise!).  Their names were Bluebonnet and Dandelion.  Bluebonnet was mean and the kids were constantly telling on him for pecking Dandelion.  Poor birds, we hope to never see you again (well, Annie did enjoy them!).

Another fun week of visiting a couple of different parks, including visiting Hermann Park out by the zoo on our "Fun Day Friday."  I've been trying to do something extra fun on Fridays, since this is my last year with Jacob home with us.  He is in preschool Monday-Thursday, so I try to make Friday extra special.  This park has ducks to feed, a huge playground, walking trails, and a train ride.  Jacob told Gwyn that this is a REAL train, not just a fake one.  Here are a few pictures from that trip.  Jacob teaching Annie how to chase after ducks:
Gwyn, who had gotten into my eye shadow that morning and wanted to look like a cat...I think she did a pretty good job considering she didn't even have a mirror.
Jacob, for once, standing still so that I could take his picture:
Gwyn, who still LOVES to go down "super fast" slides.  She will try out all the slides, then determine which on is the fastest, and then go up and down it continuously:
Annie, who practically attempts to run down slides.  Notice her leg is soaked.  She went down a slide that was wet with dew before I could get to her...she was soaked, but hey, she cleaned the slide for everyone else!
Gwyn and her little friend Lauren, so sweet holding hands on the way to the train:
 Waiting on the train!

The kids are really saying some sweet prayers.  Brian and I take turns putting to them to bed each night, and it is just a really sweet time in hearing their prayers.  They will pray for people when they are sick, they pray that Annie and Mommy sleep good, and Jacob likes to pray for everyone in our family and everyone not in our family (that just about covers it!).  Gwyn likes to pray that God “blesses our hearts” or “help keep our hearts happy.” Of course, you can’t help but smile when they pray for things like, “thank you for Mommy bringing home that candy for Daddy so we can all have some tomorrow” or “thank you for Star Wars.”

Annie is continuing her path of destruction and can now climb onto the couch and the kitchen table by herself.  This has become a huge problem, since the kids like to do a craft or drawing up at the table most every afternoon.  Annie wants to be right in the middle of everything, so she just climbs right up and jumps right in.  Brian came home one day and Annie was on top of the kitchen table with markers drawing all over her legs.  He kind of freaked out and thought I wasn’t watching.  I told him that yes, I had spent at least 30 minutes going back and forth trying to keep her down, but then saw that she was in the middle of the table and pretty content with just marking her legs up (with of course washable markers that would come off in the bath later), and since she was in one place, I could make dinner in relative peace!  He agreed it wasn’t too bad of an idea, I think mainly because he was hungry!  Brian says that Annie pretty much requires a dedicated person to follow her around during the day to constantly clean up her path of destruction.  She also now thinks it is so funny to take off her shoes.  She can get them off before we even get out the door, even if it is the last thing I do before grabbing my purse.  She also takes them off, as well as her socks, during the car ride to school, so I spend and estimated 30 minutes every day putting her shoes on, over and over again!
Gwyn has now mastered her coveted Dora puzzle all by herself.  She is so proud and works it at least 3-4 times per day:
If you think I'm joking about what a handful Annie is, here is an example of Gwyn sitting quietly "reading" to herself in the waiting room during Speech:
And here is Annie, who is like a mad person getting books out, climbing up on things, standing on things, digging into my purse, etc:

Funny things the kids said this week:
Jacob (who loves gum now): You should try it Gwyn, gum has juice in it.
Gwyn:  What kind of juice?
Jacob:  Gum juice, it is good!
Jacob:  Why don't the birds eat the apples we gave them?
Me:  I guess they aren't hungry now.
Jacob:  Do you think that they think it is a poison apple? (um, no)
Jacob:  Mommy, P and R are kind of the same except R has that extra line coming down.
Me:  Yes, I guess they are kind of related.
Jacob:  Like cousins??
Gwyn:  Why do you have that on your face (talking to me about makeup)?
Gwyn (later that day):  Where did your make up go??
Gwyn:  Mommy, is underpants potty talk?
Me:  Kind of, yes, we don't need to be talking about underpants.
Gwyn:  OK, Jacob said it.  (she is now getting technical about tattling!)
Gwyn:  Bum, bottom, bottom bum.
Me:  Gwyn, no potty talk.
Gwyn:  But Mommy, I'm 3 now, I'm a big girl, so I can say potty talk.  (um, no.)
Brian to Jacob before bed:  You are really lucky, you have 2 little sisters.  Some little boys don't have any sisters at all, and you are so lucky that you have 2!
Jacob (getting upset):  Does that mean we have to give one back?

February in Houston is NICE!!

The weather here has been beautiful and we've hit the park a few times this week.  Annie goes crazy at parks, she thinks she can do it all and is constantly up, down, back again.  She is the most high maintenance baby at a park that I've ever seen, I think she thinks she is 4 years old or something.  She runs and screams with excitement and takes off as fast as she can for the slide...over and over again.  Oh, and she likes to go down the slides on her stomach backwards or head first, it doesn't matter, whichever can get her down the fastest so that she can go back up again. Here are Jacob and Gwyn at the park:

It has been a whirlwind week, we keep so busy I find myself running around constantly.  Dropping off kids at preschool, grocery shopping, running errands, picking up kids from preschool, going to speech, going to reading class, going to parks to meet friends, the fun just never ends!  I felt really bad on Tuesday morning walking into drop Jacob and noticing that all the boys were dressed up in collared shirts with their hair fixed.  Yep, I forgot about picture day.  I look down to realize that, of course, Jacob dressed himself in a star wars hooded sweatshirt and has his regular bedhead hair sticking up all over the place.  We decided that it wasn't so bad since it was his favorite shirt and it would represent how he normally looks:)  I can remember his first few picture days that I laid out multiple outfits the night before, fretting over which one to pick that would work the best with the background that I had called the school about to see what color it would be.  Oh, the joys of having more than one child and trying to manage it all! Ha!  We also went to the doctor this week for Gwyn's 3 year old check up and Annie's 15 month old checkup.  Annie was 31 1/2 inches and 21 lbs 3 oz (50th percentile in height and 20th percentile in weight).  Gwyn was 38" and 31 lb (75th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight).  Gwyn got one shot, and Annie had to get three shots, oh the screaming, crying horror that went on in that office!  We also found out that poor Annie had an ear infection, so we are doing antibiotics for the next week.

It was a big week for Gwyn this past week, I guess good things happen to those who turn 3!  First, Annie and I got to go to Gwyn's birthday chapel at school this week.  Gwyn was called to the front during chapel, and the kids sang to her.  She stood there with her little head down, embarrassed.  She's just too cute!
Next, Gwyn got to go to Tadpoles at church with Brian and Jacob.  This is something very special that Brian has been doing with Jacob for the past year and a half.  It is just for Dads and their 3-6 year olds at church.  They go and get to play a game, have a snack (which is the most important part), do a craft, and have a story and prayer.  The kids love this time with their Dads, and now that Gwyn is 3, she got to go too.  She was SO excited about going, and even more excited about riding in Daddy's car with the windows rolled down.  She had fun and can't wait to go this week.  Lastly, Gwyn tried out a dance class at The Little Gym this week.  She went with a friend who will be moving in across the street, and was SO excited about it for the past two weeks that we've been talking about it...that is, until we got there.  She cried and hardly did anything for the whole hour.  She got brave again at bedtime and told me she wasn't going to cry next time.  I guess we'll try one more week, but if she cries again, she is just going to have to be a dance class dropout since it is a bit stressful for me to go back and forth to sooth her, while watching Annie and Jacob out with the rest of the moms and siblings for an entire hour.  She was proud of her dance outfit:
Rick and Sue visited for the weekend, and Brian and I got three glorious days of sleeping in, 7:30 is SOOO much better than 6 am!  The kids enjoyed their grandparents, we went to the park, played outside, went to the bookstore, they took them to see the movie Gnomeo and Juliet, and had a great time together.
I love how the grass is worn underneath Jacob and Gwyn's swings.  Jacob loves to be pushed higher and higher, and Brian and I enjoyed the relief of swing pushing duty!
Funny things the kids said this week:
Me to Gwyn at the Dr's office:  That wasn't so bad, wasn't the Doctor nice?
Gwyn:  No.
Jacob:  Why doesn't R2D2 or C3PO have light sabers?
Me:  Ask your dad when he gets home (I use this one a lot)!
Gwyn:  Jacob doesn't like pretty stuff, he just likes cool stuff.
Jacob:  Why don't robots have hair?
Brian:  They don't need to keep warm like humans do.

3 Little Love Bugs

These are my three little love bugs, and oh how do I LOVE them!  Dressed in red before we went to school today, and so excited about Valentine’s Day parties.  When I laid the kids down tonight, Jacob asked if tomorrow would still be Valentine’s Day, I said no, but told him that we do have candy now, so if you eat your lunch and dinner really well, then we’ll have some special treats…that seemed to suffice.

We pulled double duty with both Jacob and Gwyn’s parties at the same time.  Luckily, Brian was able to go to Jacob’s since I was helping with Gwyn’s and we swapped for a little while so we could see both kids.  Their little faces just lit up when they saw us.  Here is Gwyn in her class having lunch:
Jacob and Brian at his party:
Gwyn with her teachers and a couple of classmates:
We had a week of everyone (except Brian) being sick around here, and we even inflicted Jason too!  Gwyn got sick first, followed by Annie, followed by me, followed by Jacob.  Gwyn missed school on Wednesday, Jacob missed school on Thursday, we didn’t even leave the house on Friday, and Brian was home to help since I was feeling awful on Friday/Saturday.  Let’s just say that he has a new appreciation of taking care of the kids AND keeping the house clean/food cooked/laundry done/etc!  Poor little Jacob not feeling very good (it was so sad, he just wanted to sit with me or Brian, hug and kiss us, and lay his little head down...I think he took a nap for the first time in a couple of years, that's how we really knew he was sick!):
The weather did turn really nice, so we were able to make it up to the park on Sunday and play outside a bit.  The kids were sick of being cooped up inside, and we were all having a little cabin fever after it being so cold (I know, not Snoklahoma cold, but it was down in the 30s a couple of days!).  Here is Brian and Jacob mowing the yard (we have gotten so much use out of that lawn mower!).  Jacob is mowing in his doctor pants and his scientist shirt, nothing like mowing the lawn in dress up gear!

Annie always has her sippy cup in tow:
Jacob didn't feel like playing all that much, but he was very into drawing a rocket ship in the driveway:
Annie is continuing to destroy the house on a daily basis.  She is still obsessed with brushing her teeth and when she is running to go upstairs, she'll cut you off going around a corner to beat you up the stairs. She now says "Dora" and "Wow Wow" for Wubbsy.  I thought it was funny that Jacob pretty much didn't watch TV til he was 3, and now we have Annie at 15 months requesting Dora!  She was flipping through this book of Jacobs, and at the back were some advertisements for other books and one had Dora on it, and she pointed to it and said "Dora."  She now refuses to eat her food cut up, she looks at how Jacob and Gwyn are eating theirs and that is how she wants to eat hers.  I cut up a cheese stick today and she wouldn't eat it, so  I just thought I would see if giving her a whole one worked, and sure enough, she ate the whole thing.  She did the same thing with chicken fingers the other night, and a grilled cheese sandwich too!  She is also very jealous, I call her a little jealous tail.  If Gwyn or Jacob is sitting in mine or Brian's lap, she whines and cries to get right up with us, and she did it to Jason the other night too.  Jacob sometimes fake cries when Annie is crying, the first time he did it, I thought he was doing it to make fun of her, but he said he does it because it makes her stop crying and look at him.  So, anytime Annie cries, we first try out Jacob crying too to see if that is what she wants now.  He says she likes it, sometimes she does, but sometimes it makes her mad!  Here she is climbing up to the sink, she likes to get a drink out of the faucet and she will now pull herself up onto the counter:
Climbing up in the playroom to take all the books and DVDs off and throw them on the floor (unfortunately she has a brother and sister who like to tattle, so she doesn't get into too much trouble):
We will soon be moving Annie to the booster seat, I will have no issues saying good bye to the highchair since I hate having to clean it 3-4 times/day.  She is a little wiggler, and now prefers to eat while standing:
Gwyn is getting into playing with her princess dolls.  She will bring me Belle and tell me that Belle is the big sister and Tinkerbell is the little sister.  It is pretty entertaining to play with her, you should just hear some of the funny conversations that these dolls have back and forth.  She woke up the other night at 2 am screaming.  Brian went up to see her, and she said there was a spider crawling on her arm and she tried to squish it in the covers.  Brian said she was believable at first, until she said the spider opened the door and went downstairs!  Gwyn is in a headband phase, she wants to wear one every day:
Jacob is so into Star Wars, he asks for stories constantly, and looks forward to his 10 minutes/day that Brian and he look at Star Wars videos on the computer.  This is the highlight of his day, and every night when I put him to bed I ask what his favorite part of the day was, and even today (when he had his Valentine's day party with all the candy, etc.), it was still watching Star Wars videos with Daddy.  He listens to every word that Brian tells him (which Brian is having to watch the movies to even remember what goes on, we still haven't decided if he is old enough to see the movies yet, so Brian tells him story after story).  Jacob will sometimes ask me a question, and if I give him a wrong answer he is sure to correct me with a long story about what Daddy told him about Darth Vader, Obi Won Kanobi (sp??), Yoda, General Grevious, etc.  When I tell stories at night now, Gwyn will ask for Belle and Snow White, and Jacob still asks for Batman, but he likes the bad guy (and he ALWAYS wants a bad guy) to be General Grevious.  Well, one story I told had Belle, baby Snow white, and Batman at a gymnastics party, and General Grevious came and was popping all the birthday balloons with his light saber.  I told him that Batman had him cornered and General Grevious fell on a chair and hurt his knee before the police showed up to arrest him.  Jacob quickly told me I was wrong, that there was no way that General Grevious could hurt his knee because he was a robot and his legs were made of steel so they don't hurt.  And another story I told about Belle, baby Snow White and Batman were outside playing with their new build a bear animals and General Grevious came and threw them in the pool.  Batman fished them out with Daddy's net and then pushed General Grevious into the water, and since he was a robot he was broken when he got wet.  Jacob said he could dry out, so I finished the story with storm troopers landing to take General Grevious back to some planet to fix him back up.  Here he is in his star wars sweatshirt, which is worn more than any item of clothing he owns:
The kids play great together, and Jacob and Gwyn's little third wheel, Annie, is tagging along.  This week they were on a hunt to catch a skunk in the house.  Annie just chased after them going all over the house, and thought it was the greatest thing.  They like to play bad guys and right now they, of course, are the good guys, and Annie is the bad guy.  I'm sure this will be an issue, but for now, Annie thinks it is great.  They have such great imaginations.  The other day after reading a Bugs book which had a picture of a scorpion, they came up with an elaborate plan if they were ever to see a scorpion what they would do.  Jacob would tell Daddy, not Mommy, Mommy would watch Annie in the house.  Gwyn would sit in the wagon in the garage with her hands over her eyes so the scorpion couldn't see her, and then Jacob and Daddy would get the scorpion with a shovel.  So, just in case we ever see a scorpion, we've got a plan.

A few pictures of artwork from the last week.  Gwyn covered dinosaurs last week, and Jacob is doing lots of things with numbers and counting.  He drew the picture in the lower left hand side with his name on it.  He said it was him standing outside of our house, but the stairs were on the outside of the house instead of the inside.  He said his body was blood inside and skin over it (he colored himself pink but you can't really see it):
Jacob made Mommy a special valentine (the black heart on the left hand side), and he made his own valentine box by painting a CoCo puffs cereal box red and decorated it. Gwyn made some valentines at school and decorated her bag too.
Funny things the kids said this week:
Gwyn to Brian when he put in a Tinkerbell movie:  Is this the old Tinkerbell?  (We have 2 Tinkerbell movies now, and the Fairy Rescue is the most requested one!)
Jacob to Brian after he drank ½ a water bottle in one drink:  Wow, how do you drink so much?
Brian:  I’m just a lot bigger than you.  I’ve got a bigger stomach for it to go into.
Jacob:  Like that big buy on Star Wars with the puffy belly?
Me:  Jabba the Hutt??
Jacob:  Yes, him, you’re like that Daddy.
Gwyn:  We are just all sick.  I’m sick, Mommy’s sick, Annie’s sick, Daddy’s head hurts, and Jacob’s got the blisters (this was before Jacob was sick and she was talking about red bumps that Jacob had months ago…she remembers things at odd times)
Jacob after Brian read him David and Goliath:  Goliath isn’t going to get any presents for Christmas, he’s mean.
Gwyn (on just about any matter):  I can do it all by myself, because I’m a big girl.
Jacob (chanting over and over):  WE ARE OBEYERS!! WE ARE OBEYERS!!

And then, she was 3!!

Today Gwyn turned 3…I’m happy and I’m sad, mostly in shock that she is growing up so fast.  Here she is in a picture I practically had to drag her out of the house for, only for her to give me 5 pictures of a fake smile of which the above is the best.  Looking cute in her new Hello Kitty dress (which she was upset about since it was the one present I let her open this morning, and it wasn’t a toy), pink tights from Maddy, and her light up twinkle toes…oh, and a bow in her hair because she needs one in at ALL times.  I get told quite frequently that I forgot to put one in, or that I put it in wrong.  She is smart, funny, independent, and emotional…a little like me!  We love our little Gwyn.  (Happy Birthday to my Mom too, it is her birthday today too!)
When she woke up this morning, I heard her little pitter patter of feet coming down the stares, only to go running back up the stairs.  I thought, what is she doing??  She comes back down (having gone up to wake Jacob), and says, “Jacob, come look, Kong Kong came and brought presents for Christmas!”  Jacob told her that no, it isn’t Christmas time yet, it is her birthday, to which she replied, “Kong Kong decorated for my birthday?”  She had gotten a little confused since I had decorated the dining room with streamers and put her presents up on the table, and at Christmas our elf, Kong Kong, had also toiletpapered our dining room, so she thought he must have done it.  Brian told her that Mommy did it, and she was so surprised!  She started the day off with some birthday donuts, we took birthday snack cupcakes to her class at school, and then we opened presents after making homemade pizzas and had Aerial cake with Jason tonight.  Gwyn with her birthday candles:
 Did Kong Kong do this??
Poor thing had to take a power nap in between all the celebrations, they wore her out!
The kids love them some Uncle Jason...all 3 on him at the same time:
Gwyn's Aerial cake, made by Brian:
 His picture comparison:
A video from tonight:

Annie taking every opportunity to pick up as many things as possible and string them across the house when Gwyn opened some presents:
We had Gwyn’s birthday party on Saturday at Build A Bear.  Gwyn had never done it before and was in awe.  She was so excited and picked a purple fluffy dog.  We had 13 kids, and they each got to pick an animal, get it stuffed, name it, wash/comb it, pick out some clothes, etc.  Here are few pictures from the party, followed by pizza at California Pizza Kitchen (yummy!) and cupcakes!  Gwyn made sure to tell everyone that it wasn’t her birthday, her birthday was on Monday, this was just her party.
In line after picking their animals:
Gwyn washing and brushing her puppy:
 Oh the decisions!
Gwyn's dog she named: Doggy, Sparkles, and about 5 other names
Gwyn with Mommy:

Poor little Annie got passed and passed around:
Birthday cupcake!
Gwyn with Mommy and Daddy (the closest thing to a family picture we've had in awhile, oh wait, we're missing Jacob and Annie!):
Yes, Jacob still only eats the icing!
Poor little Annie was ready to go home!  She said, "Hey it is 1:30 and I nap at 11:30, let's get this show on the road!"  I did feel a little bad about taking this picture before I picked her up:
For the Superbowl, we got together with two other family friends for a party…Brian made a football cake that was a huge hit.  I don't think anyone even watched the game.  With 8 kids running around it is hard to watch TV, but the kids did put together a band and put on a show.  Jacob played guitar and Gwyn was on keyboard (oh and she break dances too), so I'd have to say that entertainment was SO much better than watching some football game anyway!:
Annie is still destroying the house…she loves to giggle, and will laugh out loud while I’m reading a book to her.  You wonder what is going on her little head that hits her so funny when I turn a page and she just starts laughing.  She also likes to hug.  She is starting to understand things, and this week it was “give Gwyn/Jacob a hug” and she would run over to them and give them a hug.  Jacob and Gwyn thought it was just great and for about 5 minutes straight Gwn would say, “Annie, come give me a hug,” and she would do it.  Then Jacob would say, “Annie, come give me a hug,” and then she would do it.  They went back and forth like this over and over.  She is now a pro at going up and down the stairs, her mattress is as low as it can go since she climbed out of her crib, she likes to eat play dough (I found this out after I discovered she had play dough breath), she eats at least ¼ pound of ham during a grocery store run, and she spills at least ½ gallon of milk each week (my poor hardwood floors!).  Her new game is to walk around with her milk, pull out the straw and then turn it over, shake all the milk out and then play in it.  She can seriously destroy the entire downstairs in about 15 minutes.  She looks sweet in this picture with her milk, but really, she is waiting on me to look the other way so she can run off and dump her milk out and wait for me to go find it:
 Annie the hugger:
Sweet sisters waiting on their brother:
Typical Annie, pulling every single tissue out of a box:

Jacob is such a sweet boy.  He's my little love bug.  If you are in a room wit him, he wants to come sit on your lap.  If you are watching TV, he'll climb up on you and watch it either beside you or on your lap.  He likes to be with people, and he loves, loves, loves his sisters.  We’re continuing speech and he is doing great.  We got the Gessell screening results back and he’s ready for Kindergartren in the Fall.  The tester was amazed at how he held the 3 point position with his pencil the entire 40 minutes, and that he would erase because he wanted to make sure he got things right (erasing is a 7 yr old skill..oh yes, I’m bragging)!  I write notes to both Gwyn and Jacob and put them in their lunch boxes at school, and he was super excited when Brian wrote him one this week.  He told me as soon as I picked him up that Daddy had written him a note!  On Saturday night before I put him to bed, he really wanted his Darth Vader from Build A Bear, so I told him to run down stairs and get him.  When he came back up, he had Gwyn’s dog too, and he said, “I’ll just put her dog right here outside her door, so that when she wakes up, she’ll see him.”  How sweet!  He learned a new song at school this week, that he was proud to sing.

Love this face:
Jacob with his Darth Vader...he loves this thing!
Oh the endless hours of fun this box provided earlier in the week (thanks John and Claudia!):
Gwyn keeps us laughing.  Brian and I laugh about poor little Camilla, that Gwyn tells on all the time.  She comes home every day with a different story of what Camilla did.  Camilla through sand in my hair, Camilla took a toy out of Laura’s hand, Camilla pushed Mailee, etc.  At Dad’s night, Brian said Camilla looked all sweet, but we know, thanks to Gwyn, we know.   Gwyn also really likes to show off her panties.  She wants people to see them.  She has Dora, all the princesses, Hello Kitty, etc.  If you come to the house and say hi, she’ll pretty much drop her pants and say look at my panties!!  She did this the other day in the front yard when Jason came over.  She has done it to several of my friends...I'm hoping she grows out of this soon!
She also likes to carry this dolphin purse, took it out to a restaurant the other day, so I told her to empty it out and let’s see what is so important in there…yep, still hoarding those little animals.
 Contents of her purse:
It was a bit chilly for a couple of days, and since we live in Houston and I don’t buy winter coats for the kids, I pulled out a 12-18 month old coat for Gwyn…poor kid!
Funny things the kids said this week:

Brian to Gwyn:  How did you get so pretty?
Gwyn:  God made me so pretty.
Gwyn (as she gives Jacob a hug):  You’re a good brother Jacob.
Gwyn (telling whoever will listen):  Annie really likes to sit on my lap.
Jacob (as we are driving down the road):  Mommy, what does C-A-R-G-O M-O-D-E spell?
Me:  Cargo mode??
Jacob:  Yes, that is what the seat says (he is getting good at his letters!)
Gwyn to some random guy in Target:  What’s up dude?
Me to Jacob after he rolled his eyes at me for the first time:  Jacob, that is disrespectful, you do not do that to adults.
Gwyn (as she is trying unsuccessfully to try to roll her eyes too):  Can we do it to people?
Me:  No, adults are people too, just don’t do it to anyone.
Me to Jacob:  Go get your heavy coat on, it’s going to be cold outside:
Jacob:  I really need to wear my orange jacket.
Me:  Your orange jacket is a sweatshirt jacket and it isn’t heavy enough for today, you need your heavier coat, it is really cold outside.
Jacob (very disappointed):  But my orange jacket really makes me look like Darth Vader, and I need to look like him at school (apparently he plays on the playground with a couple of other kids and he is always Darth Vader).
Me:  You’re heavier coat is dark blue and it will make you look even more like Darth Vader because he has a dark hood.
Jacob:  OK!
Me to Gwyn:  What do you want to have for dinner on your birthday?
Gwyn:  Cupcakes
Me:  What kind of real food do you want to have for your birthday dinner?
Gwyn:  Real cupcakes.
