The day has finally come...Gwyn started pre-K and Annie started preschool in the 2 year old class...they are both in school on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9-2...whooo hooo! The first day of drop off my friend teased me that I was the Mom who peeled out of the parking lot leaving skid marks and smoke in my trail as a tasted some sweet precious hours of time without kids...I do LOVE my kiddos and am very blessed to be able to stay home with them, but in the few days I've had so far, I've done my wood floors, cleaned out a cabinet, went up to Jacob's school to be the mystery reader, had a room mom meeting, exercised, grocery shopped alone (this is done amazingly much quicker and cheaper!), and worked a full day for Jason. This year is exciting for me, I've finally got some time to do some things I've been putting off for too long, and all at the same time be able to miss my kids so that when I pick them up, I'm excited about them being home!
Sweet little Gwyn is in the pre-K Turtle class, she picks out all of her clothes (and Annie's). She talks non-stop:)
Love that precious face!
Little Annie Jaye was excited for school, I thought she might cry when I dropped her off, but she did good. She's in class with her little friend Claire.
Here is a video right before I dropped them off on their first day:
Jacob had his first project. I did my best to not make it MY project. He had to create a "Me" poster of 5 things that he was all about. He chose bugs, sports, Star Wars, family, and favorite foods.
Gwyn did her own little project:
And Annie of course found a way to make a huge mess while I was helping Jacob:
I had to take a video of this because I was finding bits of paper EVERYWHERE...apparently Annie is working on her fine motor skills...please recognize she is a third child using safety scissors...this would have never happened when I just had Jacob, ha!
He came home with his grade today, he got 100% and an E! And the finished product:
Jacob's life is as active as ever. Brian is coaching his soccer team, and they had their first practice last weekend. They have orange uniforms, and are supposed to select a team name...it is always fun to hear what they come up with! I did get an email from Jacob's teacher on Friday about some excitement on the playground...apparently the boys found a dead squirrel with its head cut off and Jacob was one of the curious ones who picked it up. He claimed he was bringing it over to his teacher, yuck! Of course, yesterday, I see a news clip about a girl who got bubonic plague from touching a dead squirrel and I've been checking him out daily for symptoms.
Jacob's name got drawn and he got to take the class stuffed animal, Kodi, home. He had an exciting weekend with us...he got babysat by Gwyn and Annie and he got to be goofy with Jacob:
He got to eat at Chick Fil A:
He got to help replant some plants in the landscaping with Jacob and Brian, and he also got to go to some friends house for a pool party...what a lucky dog!
Annie with Jacob's goofy glasses:
Gwyn with Jacob's goofy glasses:
Brian's company had a suite at the Texan's game on Sunday, and Brian's project had it for the game. Brian and I went to see the game, it was a lot of fun!
I love Jacob's writing. This is a note he sent to his Nana and Papa.
Here is a video of our family bike ride on Sunday, I hope no one throws up from watching this...remember I'm trying to ride my bike and video at the same time...oh, and after I finished the video, Jacob ran into a parked Mercedes...nice...both he and the car were okay!
Funny things the kids said:
Annie: I cried Mommy.
Me: Why did you cry?
Annie: Because I wanted to. But I'm not going to cry next time.
Gwyn: I can hear my heart beeping.
Jacob: Gross, Annie licked my boat! (his boat being the laundry basket)
Annie: No, I didn't...I chewed it.
Gwyn: Daddy is little. Next to Jesus he is.
