Easter in Gruene, Texas

What an awesome weekend we had in Gruene, Texas with two other families over Easter.  Our three families had split a river house on the Guadalupe river that we purchased as an auction item at Gwyn's school.  There were 6 adults and 9 kids, it was an amazing house right on the river.  We literally walked down to the river, we were able to see deer, ride on inner tubes...the cold water didn't bother anyone except the adults!  The location is so close to everything, 20 min to San Antonio, 20 min to San Marcos...we did so much in our short time and will definitely be trying to go back soon!  Here are some pictures of the kids in the water behind the house, our walkway lead right out to a rocky area which was perfect for the kids to climb around on, and then the water opened up into a smooth swimming area:

A few videos of the kids (including Brian), floating down the river...I realize how boring these videos may be, but the kids loved it:

Gwyn and Brian:

Annie liked going down with Brian:

Gwyn finally got brave and went down with a friend and then down by herself:
Annie wanted to go out with her Daddy:

While we were there we went to see the Natural Bridge Caverns, what is funny is that it was so close to the river house, and Jacob had picked up this pamphlet on these caverns over a year ago when we went to Sea World in San Antonio, so he was super excited:
We had our Easter egg hunt a day early, here are the Dads bringing their little kids down for the hunt:
We told them no hunt until we got a picture with them all smiling...have you ever seen such perfect smiles all at the same time on all the boys faces??
 Picture with their loot:
We found a church on Sunday, got the kids dressed up and went for an early service followed by lunch at the Gristmill right on the river:

 All 9 munchkins...3 first graders, 4 pre-kers, and 2 three year olds:

Before we left, I went to Annie's Easter party at school.  I was planning to go to Annie's party  for 30 minutes and then Gwyn's party for the last 30 minutes.  I got the times wrong and when I showed up to Gwyn's the party was already over...I felt horrible, but thankfully (I guess) she couldn't have cared less. Annie had a good time for her hunt, but didn't want to get knocked over so she just sat back and got absolutely no eggs in her basket.  She came home with 10 so her teacher must have evened them up:
 Sweet Annie Jaye:
Look at this silly goose getting all giddy around Atticus!
I caught Gwyn out on the playground when I was leaving, she yelled "You missed my party, MOM!"
Another mom sent me this cute picture of Gwyn at her party:
