We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. My parents came down and we had dinner at Jason's house and all spent the night over there a couple of nights. We missed the Katterhenry's and those new babies of Stacy's but we'll be up to Tulsa in a month for Christmas. I cooked most of the meal, Brian and Jason each chose to "Top Chef" it with one dish, Brian chose a charcuterie plate (meats and cheeses) and Jason did Truluck's corn and crab chowder, both were awesome! The kids liked to help make some dessert...we used Em's Louisiana Yummy recipe and everyone thought that was a hit!
Annie can be a little helper in the kitchen too, but she chose to sit and just eat plain cream cheese for the most part:
A bubble bath in Jason's tub...I loved this picture, even though it isn't the best quality it captures Gwyn and Annie laughing at their brother perfectly!
We made some sugar cookies and the kids decorated them:
Brian's charcuterie plate:
He was pretty proud:
What Thanksgiving doesn't include a Darth Maul puzzle??
Jason also has an entire room of band equipment...here are the kids dancing to Papa playing the guitar...not sure where Jacob gets his moves, maybe Brian?!?!
We also babysat Kipp for the weekend, the kids love little Kipp...but poor Jacob got bit. It was a bit traumatic for him, but he survived and was back to holding him again! (I did google, and he is all tetanus shot covered!)
The weather was perfect, we had a park day with the girls being out of school the first couple of days of last week:
Since Jacob was out on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I took the kids to paint pottery pieces...I'm anxious to see how Annie's masterpiece turns out since I pretty much just let her go crazy on hers:
We put up all our Christmas decorations over the weekend, the kids loved putting ornaments on their trees...Annie covered her tree until it fell over a few times:
Gwyn made hers as girly as possible:
Jacob was a little more selective on his ornaments and didn't want any baby ones on his:
My little boy is growing up!
Some Thanksgiving artwork from school:
I LOVED this Tiger Shark book Jacob brought home from school:
Funny things the kids said this week:
Jacob and his friend Daylan at Westside: Let's go play a girl sport...volleyball.
Gwyn: I really like cows, they make ice cream.
Annie to Jacob after he asked for something she had: I didn't hear you say please.
Jacob who wants Diary of a Wimpy Kid book for Christmas: I'm going to ask for Diar.
Me: Why?
Jacob: Because diarrhea is a bad word.
Me: It is diary, not diarrhea (trying not to laugh). Do you know what a diary is?
Jacob: Yes mommy, a girls purse.
